The victim is a twenty year old Ghanaian who has offered to transport the luggage to two women in front of the Venice Station. The attackers are two “authorized” carriers of thirty-seven and forty-one years, apparently already known to the local police.

The news is reported by Corriere del Veneto today, and is confirmed by one of the two women who announced to complain on his return from Spain. A passing lawyer would have witnessed the incident.

The testimonies that one of the two women and the lawyer have released to the local press seem very clear.

1. It was not a simple fight for the hoarding of “customers”: the aggression was one-sided and took place in cold weather, while the young man was already accompanying the two tourists on the street.
2. The matrix of aggression seems obvious: the racist insult addressed to the boy was accompanied by those against the two women intervened in his defense. And one of them was punched in the face. Extensive racism that also affects those who try to protect those who suffer.
3. To the exclamation of one of the women “but in what kind of country we are?” The two men would have answered: “Viva Salvini” and “Sei in the Country of Salvini”. The Minister of the Interior is once again summoned to justify a racist attack. Yet another sign that should induce him, if he has not yet done so, just for the role he plays, to distance himself from what happened.
4. On site there were two policemen who did not intervene because they came after the first attack, to avoid “exacerbate the tension” and not “create problems of public order”. At least that’s what the local police commander said, ensuring that investigations are under way.

Meanwhile, the victim will probably not know the name, has moved away as soon as he could. How to give him wrong? If he does not have a residence permit, denouncing would mean exposing himself to a deportation order. And then “steal the job” to the Italians.
